Navigating the Cyber Storm: Disaster Recovery and Incident Response in Primary Healthcare Webcast

RECORDED: 08/20/24

In the digital age, primary healthcare providers are increasingly dependent on organizations that are, or have themselves become, targets of sophisticated cyber threats. This session aims to illuminate the critical importance of disaster recovery and incident response planning in the face of such challenges. As healthcare organizations grapple with a myriad of cybersecurity threats, from ransomware to data breaches, the need for robust and proactive strategies has never been more pressing.

Disaster recovery planning is essential for ensuring the continuity of patient care and safeguarding sensitive health information. It provides a structured approach for restoring services and data access with minimal downtime, thus maintaining the trust and confidence of patients and stakeholders. Meanwhile, incident response planning equips healthcare providers with the necessary tools and protocols to swiftly respond to and mitigate the effects of cyber incidents, minimizing potential harm and facilitating a return to normal operations.

This session explores the landscape of cybersecurity threats specific to the healthcare sector, including the rise of ransomware attacks and the exploitation of cloud vulnerabilities. We discuss the components of an effective disaster recovery plan and the phases of incident response, emphasizing the unique considerations for primary healthcare environments. Learn how to create, implement, and maintain these plans to not only comply with regulatory requirements but also to build a resilient defense against the evolving cyber threat landscape.

Listen to gain valuable insights into developing a comprehensive strategy that ensures your healthcare organization can withstand and recover from cyber disruptions, ultimately protecting your patients and your practice.
